How the pool scoring works
On Bolify, every prediction earns a single score — never cumulative. You get the best matching category. The more detail you nail, the more points you earn.

Practical example
Match: USA 3-1 Brazil.
Your pick was 2-0. Correct winner + margin → 15 points.
Your pick was 3-1. Exact score → 25 points.
Your pick was 1-0. Only the winner → 7 points.
⚔️ How scoring works in the knockout stage
In the knockout stage, scoring is exactly the same as in the group stage. The only difference is the do-or-die tension.
- Same points table.Exact score 25 pts, winner + winner's goals 18, draw or winner + margin 15, winner + loser's goals 12, winner only 7, wrong 0.
- Extra time counts (120 min). Regular time + extra time combined. Ex.: 1×1 in regular time, 2×1 in extra time → points go to whoever predicted 2×1. This is the default rule. Pool organizers can configure their pool to count only the 90-minute score — check your pool settings.
- Penalty shootouts don't count. They decide who advances, but not the pool score. Ex.: 3×3 after 120 min and a win on penalties (5×4) → for the pool, the score is 3×3.
FAQ
Are points cumulative? Does exact score also award winner points?+
No. Points are not cumulative — you earn the highest applicable category. Exact score = 25 (already includes correct winner).
Can the admin customize scoring?+
No. Scoring is standardized across every Bolify pool — exact score 25 pts, correct winner 7 pts, other categories derived. This keeps leaderboards comparable across pools and prevents organizers from tweaking rules to favor anyone.
How do knockout-stage points work?+
Same logic as the group stage. Each prediction earns a single score (EX, WG, WM, DR, LG, WO or NO) — there is no stage multiplier. If a match goes to extra time, the 120-minute score counts (regular time + extra time combined). Penalty shootouts do not count toward scoring: they only decide who advances, not the pool score. This is the default rule. Pool organizers can configure their pool to count only the 90-minute score — check your pool settings.
What about champion / runner-up bonus?+
If the admin enabled Champion Mode, each player picks top 3 BEFORE the World Cup starts. Bonus: 50/30/20 for exact positions + 10 for a correct team in wrong position.
